Mr. Drews Classroom Expectations

Here are the Expectations

That make our world go round!

1.  Start of Class
A.  Be in your seat when class starts
B.  Look to overhead for:
        1.  List of necessary supplies for the day
        2.  Due dates and announcements for the class

2.  Weather/Exit Visas/Classroom Details
A.  Daily Weather
        1.  Have your weather predictaions sheet out first thing everyday.
        2.  Bring this sheet with you everyday, if you are absent get the data from a friend.
B.  Expectations
        1.  Be In  your seat when class starts.
        2.  When I am talking, that means you are not.
        3.  Treat everyone with RESPECT.
        4.  Give 100% everyday you are in class.
C.  Inappropriate Behavior
        1.  Tardies:  Not being in your seat when class starts.  3 tardies = Referral
        2.  Being disruptive to the learning enviroment will result in a trip to the office.   
D.  Hall Passes
        1.  You get 4 passes for the term.  
        2.  If you run out of them before the end of the term, you will not be leaving the room.
        3.  Extra credit is given for unused hall passes at the end of the term.
E.  Absence
        1.  All work needs to be made up by the time the science packet is due.
        2.  Must come before school, after school, or lunch to make up labs & quizzes
F.  Grading
        1.  No curve
        2.  Point system
        3.  Progress Reports will be passed around after each unit.
G.  Late Work
        1.  Worth 50% of the points it would have received if it had been turned in on time
H.  Graded Work

        1.  Any work turned in with no name on it will be recycled.
        2. You may keep your graded packets to study for the WASL.


3.  Ending Class
        1.  Exit Visas need to be done everyday
        2.  Teacher dismisses, not the bell.

 

Behavior Expectations

1.  Act in a safe and healthy way.
Use classroom materials appropriately, walk in the classroom and halls, sit at tables appropriately, keep hands and feet to self, NO food or drink in the classroom (except water.)
2.  Treat all property with respect.
Take care of textbooks, school furniture, and personal property of others, borrow only if you ask permission, clean up after yourself.
3.  Respect the rights and needs of others.
Interact respectfully with others, raise your hand before speaking, participate positively during class discussions, work cooperatively with others,  use appropriate language, dress appropriately, be a good listener.
4.  Take responsibility for learning.
Be on time to class, be prepared for class, sharpen your pencil before class or during breaks, complete assignments thoughtfully and neatly, be a good listener, follow directions, do your own work, use your planner, participate positively, do your best!  

Grading Policy
90-100% = A, 80-89% = B, 70-79% = C, 60-69% = D, 59% and below = Fail

If you are late:        
1 time  = Warning
2 times = Call home
3 times = Referral

Absences

It is YOUR responsibility to make sure 100% of the work is completed by the due date of the packet.
